Live Music

One thing you have to love about Vancouver is all the live shows that are coming through on a weekly basis. My top shows I’ve seen so far are Xavier Rudd, Queens of the Stone Age, and most recently All That Remains.
Xavier Rudd I thought was awsome because rarely do I get the chance to see someone playing three instruments at once, as well as vocals. This australian does it all, like a one man marching band, his music is pretty chilled out, but still makes you want to dance.
Queens of the Stone Age (dubbed stoner rock) put on a good live show, tons of crowd surfing, but I think I still like their old band better Kyuss, check’em out.
All That Remains is a new band who are very heavy, and very awsome, with nice crisp sound, which is good for metal so you can actually understand the lyrics. As far as new metal goes these guys are among the best, the band was touring for their new album Fall of Ideals, plus my ticket was only $20. The only beef I had with the show was the security, one started pulling my friend by the hair, and late in the show they missed some girl crowd surfing and she got dumped right on her face once she reached the stage, but maybe that’s the risk you take?
